So I just got my hedgehog today. It's a baby albino.
We can't tell if it's a boy or a girl yet.

My question is - is there any way to get it more used to me quicker?

also - what do you recommend for toys?

Hi everyone. I've been reading the community for a while and tonight I got my first hedgehog. He is quite friendly so far and let me carry him in my hands easily. He has only balled up once, and just for a second, he came unrolled right away. I think he is incredibly social. My hedgehog, Coconut, loves his toilet paper tube roll. I think he's obsessed with it. Is there a thing as unhealthy obsession for a TP tube roll? He does everything with it on his head short of eating and running on his wheel. Should I take it out his cage for a few days or just leave it in and don't worry about it?

I recently bought a ferret tube for my hedghog, Coconut, to play in. The problem is he likes it a bit too much. He isn't as active with the tube inside the cage as he just sleeps in it all the time. I've removed the tube and his activity level has gone up ( Read more... )

What are you hedgie's favorite toys? Well, I took Cecil out today. He seemed to enjoy that. I just got the cutest stuffed hedgehog! It's all tye-dyed orange and yellow, and so squishy and cute. Hop over to Walmart and go through the section where they have Valentine stuff!
